ILORIN: MOST PEACEFUL STATE CAPITAL – Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has described Ilorin, the Kwara State capital as one of the most peaceful state capitals in Nigeria.

Adeboye made this declaration why responding to the reception accorded him at his arrival to the site of Region 4 Let’s Go- A- Fishing in Ilorin, Kwara state.

Also reacting to the statement made by the Pastor in charge of Region 4, Pastor Ezekiel Afolayan who had earlier said ‘we are glad to welcome our darling daddy back home’, Daddy G. O said ‘if he is a darling father then the congregation were darling children and that he is happy to be back home.

“Without any doubt Kwara state and Ilorin in particular is extremely dear to me. Have said it several times that if God permits me I would love to be living in Ilorin. I’m reluctant going back to Lagos because Kwara State and Ilorin in particular is one of the most peaceful states of the federation. I had series of spiritual experiences in Ilorin but when God said go I had to leave. Therefore each time I have the opportunity to return I return with great joy. It is good to see you and my God will answer your prayers today” Adeboye commented.

Speaking on the theme of the December Let’s Go-A -Fishing, “Peace that surpasses,” the man of God exhorted the huge crowd from the book of Philippians 4:7. He said basically there are four meanings of peace which are: absence of war, end of war, absence of storm and end of storm. He concentrated more on peace as absence of war and said this could be when one’s enemy does not exist as found in 1kings 4: 24 and 25, where Solomon turned all his enemies to friends and had peace all through his reign as a king.

The man of God who was a mathematician also went further to say absence of war may also connote one having enemies but are paralyzed as found in Psalms 23: 5. He said the reason why a lot of people do not experience God’s kind of peace is because they are not pleasing God as mentioned in the book of Proverbs 16: 7.

“ Like I used to tell my children that everything mentioned in the whole Bible can be summarized in one statement, ‘nothing goes for nothing’. You have to do your part and God will do His part.” Adeboye counseled.

The event which was a one day visit of Daddy G.O was organized by Region 4 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God which comprises four Provinces namely; Province one located in Sabo Oke, Ilorin, Province two in Offa, Province three, Oro Road, Ilorin and Province four, Olorunsogo, Ilorin. But separate venue was put in place for the Kwara Province 2 in Offa wgere daddy visited them the next day.

This great gathering for soul winning was not only well attended by Pastors, elders, workers and members in the region but by delegates from Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and Christian Association of Nigeria among whom was the Secretary of PFN, Kwara State chapter, Rev. Idowu Ibitayo and other non members. Many participants gave their lives to Jesus during the altar call.
